Amazon seller performance through Waverly.

Amazon sellers work with external publishers, fund their own performance campaigns and measure off-Amazon traffic with Amazon Attribution. The manual Attribution workflow is available for pilot campaigns today; automated API access is pending Amazon approval.

Manual Amazon Attribution

Available for pilot

Sellers can run seller-funded publisher campaigns on Amazon today, using Amazon Attribution tags they create themselves inside Amazon Ads. This path does not require Waverly Amazon Ads API credentials and does not depend on Amazon API approval.

  1. 01

    Seller creates the Attribution campaign

The seller creates an Amazon Attribution campaign inside Amazon Ads, using their own Amazon advertising account. No Waverly Amazon Ads API credentials are involved.

  2. 02

    Seller creates a publisher tag

Inside the same Amazon Attribution campaign the seller creates a publisher-specific attribution tag for each publisher they want to work with.

  3. 03

    Tag is imported into Waverly

The seller, or Waverly on their behalf, imports or pastes the attribution tag into Waverly and assigns it to the approved publisher. Waverly never alters the Amazon destination URL.

  4. 04

    Publisher receives the destination

The publisher sees the seller, campaign, product, ASIN, that the purchase completes on Amazon, that compensation is seller-funded, and that measurement is Amazon Attribution — 14-day last touch.

  5. 05

    Seller downloads Amazon reporting

The seller downloads their Amazon Attribution report from Amazon Ads for the campaign date range.

  6. 06

    Report is imported into Waverly

Waverly previews the file, maps columns, matches seller, campaign, publisher, product, ASIN and date, flags duplicates and unmatched rows, and commits only after confirmation.

  7. 07

    Waverly calculates compensation

Amazon-reported measurement is stored separately from Waverly finance. Waverly applies the seller's campaign terms to calculate seller-funded publisher compensation and reconciles it through the same ledger, settlement and payment records as every other program.

Amazon API integration

Pending Amazon approval

Coming later, subject to Amazon approval. Future automation of account authorization, Attribution setup and reporting synchronization, subject to Amazon eligibility and API approval. This is not live today, and it is not required to run a manual Amazon Attribution campaign.

  1. Account authorization

A seller would authorize Waverly through Amazon's own authorization flow, without ever sharing an Amazon password.

  2. Attribution setup

Campaign and publisher-level Attribution setup would be created programmatically rather than by hand in Amazon Ads.

  3. Reporting synchronization

Amazon Attribution reporting would sync automatically instead of being downloaded and imported as a file.

How the money is described

A publisher promoting an Amazon seller's product through Waverly is paid by the seller, through Waverly. That compensation is seller-funded performance compensation managed by Waverly. It is not an Amazon Associates commission, and Amazon does not pay the publisher.

Reporting keeps the two apart. Amazon-attributed sales are shown as measurement reported by Amazon. The publisher payout is shown as a separate figure that Waverly calculates from the seller's campaign terms.

What sellers provide

In the manual path a seller provides only what they create themselves in Amazon Ads: the Attribution tags for their publishers and the Attribution reports they download. No Amazon authorization of Waverly is needed to run a manual campaign, and Waverly never requests an Amazon username or password. If Amazon later approves API access, authorization would cover advertiser and product information and Attribution measurement, and could be revoked at any time.

How data is protected

Authorization tokens are held in server-side secret storage and never reach the browser. Records are isolated per organisation in the database. Integration authorizations, synchronizations, failures and revocations are logged. Read the security page.

Current status

Manual Amazon Attribution is available for pilot campaigns today. The Amazon API integration is not live and remains pending Amazon eligibility and approval. Waverly is not an approved Amazon partner, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon; Amazon and its marks belong to Amazon.com, Inc.
